In Dubai, soaps made from donkey milk are selling fast! Their growing popularity has spread across the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, and other Gulf countries. One Jordan-based brand, Atan Donkey Milk Soap, produces 100% natural soaps at its farm in Madaba, with just 12 donkeys.

When donkey milk soaps first launched in Jordan, people laughed at the idea. But once users experienced its skin benefits, demand skyrocketed. Donkey milk is rich in proteins, minerals, and antioxidants — helping the skin stay hydrated and protected from sun damage and ageing.

Environmental activist Al Zubi told Gulf News that research shows donkey milk can rejuvenate skin cells, reduce wrinkles, and even ease eczema. It also balances skin moisture and helps fade acne marks and blemishes.

Donkey milk soaps aren’t cheap! Blended with olive, almond, and coconut oils, these luxury bars cost between 25 to 99 dinars (Rs 600–Rs 2,500) each.

Nutritionists say that donkey milk is rich in vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as minerals such as magnesium and zinc. Legend has it that Queen Cleopatra bathed in donkey milk to keep her skin youthful and radiant — a beauty ritual that’s making a modern comeback!
