    Air India Reinstates Code-Sharing Agreement With Air Canada To Boost India-Canada Connectivity | India News

    Air India and Air Canada reinstate codeshare from December 2, 2025, boosting connectivity with more destinations, unified tickets, and Star Alliance benefits for travelers.

    Air India on Saturday announced the reinstatement of their codeshare agreement with fellow Star Alliance member, Air Canada. This partnership will enhance the connectivity between India and Canada. Travellers will be given more choices and seamless access across both networks.

    The renewed partnership is effective from December 2, 2025.

    As per the official statement by Air India, the passengers using its service will get access to six Canadian destinations – Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montréal and Halifax via Vancouver, and Vancouver and Calgary via London Heathrow.

    Meanwhile, Air Canada passengers will get convenient connectivity to Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kochi via Delhi, along with additional entry points into Delhi and Mumbai through London Heathrow.

    Air India shared further benefits of the agreement and posted on X, “Passengers travelling on itineraries combining both airlines can continue to benefit from single-ticket convenience, unified baggage. allowance, and the ability to earn and redeem miles/points across both networks.”

    “Air India’s Maharaja Club elite members will also continue to enjoy Star Alliance Gold privileges on Air Canada-operated flights, including priority services, lounge access, and extra baggage. Subject to regulatory approvals, codeshare flights will be progressively made available for booking across both airlines’ channels and with travel partners worldwide,” the post added.
