FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Arkansas is one of the best states to start a business, according to a recent survey conducted by Forbes Advisor.
For this study, Forbes analyzed 18 indicators across five categories, including cost of doing business, business environment, economy, financial access, and workforce for each state.
We found that Arkansas is the third best state to start a business. The state has one of the lowest start-up fees in the county at $45, which helps ease the initial financial burden faced by new businesses, according to Forbes.
Additionally, Natural State’s business survival rate is 78%, suggesting an environment conducive to nurturing and sustaining new companies.
New businesses are also supported through grants and other programs, with an average of more than $23,000 awarded, according to Forbes.
According to Forbes, Arkansas has a cost-effective living environment, with a cost-of-living index of 0.89 and 64% of the state’s population being of working age.
The state was given a score of 93 out of 100 based on the index.
