Half also plan to change their breakfast choices, with 85% of those making a healthier swap next year choosing turkey over pork as their bacon option.

The research, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Godshall’s Quality Meats, also found that people’s biggest motivator was being healthy for their partner rather than themselves (28% vs. 19%).
But they also foresee some obstacles ahead. More than seven in 10 (73%) find it difficult to learn how to cook and prepare healthier alternatives for exchange.
Others don’t think it’s that easy to get their family to enjoy these options (59%) or find new favorites of classic foods (51%).
