Indian hospitality company OYO Hotels and Homes has announced the launch of its operations in Saudi Arabia, further expanding its international footprint. Last year, the budget hotel chain expanded into the Indonesian market, signing deals with more than 30 properties in three cities: Jakarta, Surabaya and Palembang. Additionally, Oyo has operations in Nepal, China, Malaysia, UAE, UK, and Philippines.
In Saudi Arabia, Oyo has started operations with over 50 contracted properties and has 3,000 rooms across seven cities under franchise and lease agreements. Oyo’s new properties are designed to meet the needs of millennial travelers.
Additionally, the introduction of Oyo in Saudi Arabia is expected to support the Saudi government’s Vision 2030. To this end, the brand has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund to explore further business opportunities in the region.
Manu Midha, Regional Director, OYO Hotels and Homes, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: “We would like to thank SAGIA and PIF for supporting Vision 2030 and providing us with the opportunity to manage quality accommodation for pilgrims to the Holy Land. I am honored and deeply grateful.”
“We are also excited by the prospect of being able to bring our brand of trusted, high-quality living spaces to more and more cities in Saudi Arabia. KSA has a strong internet and mobile presence; It is an attractive market that complements our approach. Since our soft launch, we have received an overwhelming response to OYO’s offering in the country and we look forward to welcoming many more guests in the coming years. .” oyorooms.com
