The building was designed by Imre Makovec, one of the prominent proponents of organic architecture in 20th century Europe. He designed several unique architectural solutions that made Hagimaticum unique. However, the project was unable to realize all of Makovets’ ideas as it ran out of funds. In addition, the original plan called for a more expanded bath complex. But what is delayed is not lost.

In 2021, the Hungarian government provided additional financial support towards the completion of the baths. As a result, the capacity of the complex will be doubled. This investment will affect his 3,200 square meters and will see the construction of a family fun zone, a slide tower with three slides and a summer changing room with a sunbathing terrace on the roof. In addition, we created a 220 square meter heated outdoor pool.
Thankfully, the new section has been ready since mid-December. Technology handover is currently in progress. The subcontractor plans to correct all possible errors in his January. The testing period will then begin immediately. As a result, a new Hagimaticum complex could open this spring. Investment costs amounted to HUF 11 billion (EUR 29 million).
