Earlier today, I reviewed the Saudia First Class Lounge in Riyadh (RUH). During my long layover, I also had time to check out the business class side of the Alfurshan lounge.
The lounge is divided into the following sections:
To my surprise, the business class lounge had a better selection of food than the first class lounge. There were some additional appetizers and desserts such as macarons, although not a very good selection.
Just beyond the lounge entrance was a small smoking room with a separate ventilation system.
Beyond that was the dining room, with a large buffet and two dining areas, one with booths and one with a table.
The children’s room adjacent to the dining room had no toys or other distractions, but did have child-sized chairs.
The main part of the lounge consisted of several rows of seating (chairs and sofas) arranged in rows. The drinks station is stocked with coffee, tea, water, fruit juices and soft drinks.
Similar to the first class side, there were several semi-enclosed staterooms with daybeds.
There was a meeting space in a conference room with round tables, an iMac and several printers.
The bathroom had no shower facilities.
conclusion
The lounge is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and access is granted if you are flying Business Class on Saudia (or a SkyTeam partner airline) or if you hold SkyTeam Elite Plus status. The only difference between the business class lounge and the first class lounge is that the first class lounge had showers and was a little less crowded.
