Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has introduced new domestic fare packages for domestic air travel in the Kingdom from February 20th.
The new package is available in Guest Class (Economy), Business Class and First Class.
The new “family” names are:
Economy Class: Saver, Basic, Flex
Business class: basic and flex
First Class: Flex
Each category has specific fare rules, and there are also different price ranges for each fare type.
Introducing fare packages for pricing is a common practice across the industry, and Saudia has announced that domestic fares are already available, with the aim of offering travelers a wider range of choices when choosing their travel plans. Matches international fare categories. New fare categories allow travelers to decide on the fare type that suits them and their travel needs, giving them more flexibility and choice when planning their travels.
Economy Saver fares allow travelers to benefit from new lower prices, subject to applicable conditions. Fares include one piece of carry-on baggage (7kg), meal service (on some routes) and Al Fursan mileage accrual. Checked baggage is an add-on to the Economy Saver category, and travelers who purchase an Economy Saver ticket can select the baggage option for a fee. The new Economy Saver fare category is only available when booking through www.saudia.com or the Saudia mobile app. Air travel purchased with Economy Saver rates is not eligible for refunds or changes.
The main difference between the Basic Package and the Flex Economy Package is that checked baggage is included in the fare (allowances vary). Earning miles varies by fare family and includes seat selection (Flex only), change and refund options.
Business Basic and Business Flex are differentiated by the number of checked bags, the number of miles earned, and change fees.
Saudia’s new packages offer travelers the opportunity to mix and match the services they need. For example, passengers who don’t need checked baggage or itinerary changes can benefit from additional savings by choosing the Economy Saver option.
