Saudi Arabia’s national airline Saudia may be planning to operate its first 787-10 flight, according to information published by Routes Online.
Saudia has submitted preliminary service for the first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner flight to the travel agency’s World Distribution System schedule list. The initial application currently shows 10 aircraft operating on the Kuala Lumpur (KUL)-Jeddah (JED) route with effect from March 29, 2020.
The Saudia 787-10 Dreamliner formation is C24Y333, and the current schedule is as follows.

Saudia announced earlier this year that it would begin operating the 787-10.
Saudia CEO Jan Albrecht spoke with Flight Global about the 787-10 at an event in Munich and said Saudia is considering putting the Boeing 787-10 into service early this year. suggested that he was doing so.
Saudi Arabia’s top official has indicated that Middle Eastern airlines will begin integrating the 787-10 into their fleets, starting with three in 2019 and adding seven more in 2020.
Meanwhile, Seattle aircraft maker Boeing has not disclosed anything about its Saudia 787-10 order, saying only that the Jeddah-based airline ordered eight 787-9s in 2010. These aircraft were delivered to Saudia between January 2016 and August 2017.
However, Boeing has received orders for the next Dreamliner model from an undisclosed customer. Without disclosing who they are, Albrecht told Flight Global that he has eight 787-10s waiting.
When asked about the major overhaul of Saudia’s fleet, Albrecht said:
“We have introduced 82 new aircraft in the last three years.”

Before Jaan Albrecht joined Saudia, Arab News claims that the airline’s chief Nasser al-Jasser wanted all 200 planes to be flown by Saudi pilots.
Speaking about this ambitious project, Al Jasser said:
“Saudia trains about 3,000 Saudi pilots. They receive the best education and are sent overseas to meet the demand for future pilots and co-pilots. ”
What is the difference between 787-10 and 787-9?
Both aircraft are members of the Dreamliner family of jets and feature state-of-the-art air filtration systems and mood lighting, but there are some key differences.
At 18 feet longer than the 787-9, the 787-10 can carry more passengers and cargo.
When flying a distance of 6,430 nautical miles, the 787-10 uses 20% less fuel than the 787-9, resulting in significant savings on long-haul flights. This is a major selling point for Boeing that increases its appeal as a long-range airliner.
United Airlines, the first U.S. airline to introduce the 787-10, says the ride is smoother thanks to technology designed to offset turbulence. The 787-10 also features large 19-inch windows, the largest on the commercial jet market.
